“Walking the Wild Applegate” is here!

Our video, Walking the Wild Applegate, is now available on DVD or for private showings! This short documentary follows two of our board members, Luke Ruediger and Josh Weber, on an 80-mile through-hike that took place in May 2016. Our goal was to turn this thru-hike adventure into a film that would raise awareness about the beauty of our region and build support for the creation of our proposed Applegate Ridge Trail and the the benefits the trails will provide to surrounding communities. The film follows their route from downtown Ashland, Oregon, over the still snow-covered summit of Wagner Butte, across the arid slopes of Anderson Butte, though the Dakubetede roadless area, to the rugged foothills of the Wellington Butte Wildlands outside Ruch, Oregon, and finally to the Cathedral Hills east of Grants Pass, Oregon.

A DVD of Luke and Josh’s adventure into the stunning beauty and diversity of “wild Applegate” is available for a $15 donation to the Applegate Trails Association. We will also be happy to set up a showing for you if you contact us at info@applegatetrailsassociation.org.
