A Trail is Born

The Applegate Trails Association is super excited to announce the East Applegate Ridge Trail is under construction! The Medford Mail Tribune has a great article about our trail: http://www.mailtribune.com/entertainmentlife/20170317/trail-is-born

Besides using accumulated grant funds to hire a local trail building crew, we will also have 3 volunteer work parties so you too may lend a hand in the creation of the East ART. Those volunteer days are April 1st, April 30th and May 21st (click to see more details). ATA provides tools, food and camaraderie. Check out this year’s schedule for guided hikes, a horseback ride and details about the work parties. Maybe we will see you on the trail.

Thanks to all the ATA supporters and hikers who have kept this dream alive. Now that we can actually build trail, your help is needed like never before. With good digging we estimate it costs about $20 to build 10 feet of trail or $2 a foot. That is one reason volunteers are so important. But if digging is not your thing, a donation will work just as well. You can donate via our webpage, www.applegatetrails.org or send a check to Applegate Trails Association, PO Box 105, Jacksonville, OR 97530 and specify if it is for building the trail.
